 Announcement: Local Bank Sponsors Educator of the Year Award in Altamont

National Bank in Altamont has sponsored a first-ever Educator of the Year Award for Altamont.
The first recipients of the award are Kathy Corder and Vera Schroeder, teachers at Frog Pond Nursery School. National Bank Altamont Branch Manager Karen Buckels said, "As stated in a nominating letter, 'if a child is begging to go to school, there must be something very special behind its doors'".
Frog Pond has operated in Altamont the past 27 years. Corder and Schroeder say they've had 1,248 graduate from their school. This year's graduating class will receive their diplomas on May 30 at 1pm on the tennis court outside the "red" one-room schoolhouse designed for the original schoolhouse of Dr. D.G. Huelskoetter, originator of Frog Pond.
