Posted by admin on Sunday, November 16 @ 22:39:57 EST (167 reads)
Citizen of the Year 2006, Dr. Nanci Wood-Huels, was honored primarily for her efforts as a volunteer with many local projects. She sets a wonderful example of how to become involved in your community. When we asked for memories or comments about Altamont, she submitted a list with 27 items on it entitled, “Why I live in Altamont”. Here are a few of favorites: #09 Because we don’t have a square like everyone else, we have a triangle. #13 Because if you forget to listen to the weather report, you can always ask Kenny Jones in front of the Post Office. #17 Because I know my City government is frugal with taxpayer’s dollars. The Chief of Police doesn’t even have hubcaps. #25 Because in Altamont, I can still root for an Indian and not be politically incorrect
